Quintessential Rainey St! Excellent craft cocktails and decent Happy Hour offering ($3 well, $2 off specialty cocktails,...). Fast & friendly bartender. Cute down-home ambiance! Dog friendly.
Definitely one of the better bars you’ll find on Rainey that doesn’t come off as too pretentious and allows for a more chill atmosphere with decently priced drinks, friendly staff and friendly people; what more could you ask for in a bar! They have pretty good deals on their beer and the food here is also quite good! If you’re looking for a bar on Rainey this is a bit more low-key and less club-like, this is the place to go!
Great little bar. Only about 10 beers on tap, but made up for it with some craft cocktails. Sweet potato fries are amazing. Also, they appear to be very dog friendly - a plus in our book.
Great bar. Lots of seats and they have a pizza truck in the back. Pizza took 25 min bc they were busy but it was good. Not my kind of pizza tho. It was spongy pan pizza. To be honest it was identical to little Cesar's.
Best burger on the street! The Old Fashioned mezcal was certainly worth a try! My favorite drink though was the frozen screwdriver. Clean bathrooms and good service.
We had a great time had some delicious fish tacos and chicken wings and a few beers
Great place to grab some food!! The Javelina Stack Cheeseburger and Borracho Tacos were absolutely amazing.
For drinks the frozen margaritas (get the blackberry swirl) are outstanding and have plenty of tequila. I’m sure the other drinks are great but the margaritas were so good that’s all we ordered!
Come in for breakfast shots and stay for lunch! #friendlystaff #petfriendly
After a seemingly endless parade of overpriced and overthought cocktails across Austin, I wandered into the oasis that is Javelina.
Their chalkboard sign said "Best Kitchen on Rainey Street." I may have rolled my eyes a bit, but I was soon proven wrong. Best meal I had in Austin.
The Korean chicken sandwich was amazing. Explosion of flavors. It was too much food, but I got the green chile and pork fries too. Another winner. The house margarita was spicy and delicious. The draft selection was broad.
Most of all, the barkeeps were attentive, knowledgeable, and particularly cool. And clearly they have some real pros working the line. Not only is it the best kitchen on the street, I'd say it's the best place on Rainey to be, and it's definitely the first place I'd go back to in all of Austin.
I love this new place. Food is great, booze is great! It’s not pretentious like other places on Rainey and Mike the manager is the second coming of Jesus. Cannot recommend high enough for a chill day drinking spot with friends.
