After checking into our room, we strolled around the corner to this restaurant for a late lunch on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist. We ordered only appetizers and were disappointed when they arrived. My seafood pastry appetizer was artsy but lacked much flavor (and much food), while my cousin’s cheese platter was fair but nothing to rave about. The shock of the meal came when the third person of our party received his anchovies appetizer. He had already experienced some fabulous white anchovies in Amalfi a few days back and was excited to sample some other anchovies. We could not believe when the waitress placed in front of him a small ceramic container of bread with AN UNOPENED TIN OF ANCHOVIES!!! He could have gone to a local market to purchase a tin of anchovies for a lot less than the 22 euros he was paying the restaurant. When the waitress returned, he inquired as to whether this appetizer was always served in this manner, and the waitress was adamant that it was. We could not believe it, and we laughed for days about what a joke it had been. Please save yourself a trip to this restaurant. There are many finer choices around Venice.
